Continuing Education Opportunities
  • CSCE supports continuing education as a means of maintaining a high level of competence in the field of Civil Engineering, through the provision of seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Members can acquire Continuing Education Units (CEU's) and Professional Development Hours (PDH's) for attending CSCE programs.

Publications
  • Members receive a subscription to the internationally recognized Canadian Journal for Civil Engineering, published bi-monthly, for an additional fee.
  • Members receive a subscription to the monthly Canadian Civil Engineer Magazine.
  • Other publications, such as proceedings from technical conferences and texts produced from the Technical Divisions, are available for purchase at special rates for members.

Annual Conferences
  • Held in major centres across Canada, the Annual Conference contains insightful and informative technical papers and short courses covering all aspects of Civil Engineering.
  • The conference is a two and a half day event containing over three hundred technical papers which have been reviewed and accepted by the Technical Division.
  • Specialty conferences are also held in concurrently on particular areas of importance.

National Lecture Tours
  • National Lecture Tours are organized by the Technical Divisions, and provide members with an opportunity to meet and listen to prominent Civil Engineers, who have earned wide recognition and respect amongst peers, lecture on topics of special importance and interest.

International Programs
  • The International Affairs Committee plans and implements training and technical exchange activities under joint cost sharing agreements with Civil Engineering organizations in other countries. Theses collaborations include short courses, workshops and seminars.

Student Chapter Activities
  • Student Chapters of the CSCE have been established in Canadian Universities and Colleges which offer a Civil Engineering program.
  • Student Chapters offer undergraduates technical programs often in conjunction with local CSCE sections, and opportunities to meet with practicing Civil Engineers in their community.
  • Student Paper Competitions are held annually under the auspices of the Student Affairs Committee and various Technical Divisions.
  • The "President's Trophy" is awarded annually to the most active Student Chapter in Canada.

Awards
  • Awards are presented annually to individual Canadian Civil Engineers for outstanding accomplishments in the field of Civil Engineering.
  • Career awards recognize the contributions to the development and practice of structural, hydrotechnical, construction, transportation and environmental engineering in Canada, as well as the development of computer applications in engineering, and engineering mechanics.
  • Career awards are presented for dedicated service, which has furthered the advancement of the CSCE and noteworthy contributions to the study of the history of Civil Engineering in Canada or Civil Engineering achievements by Canadians elsewhere.
  • Awards are presented annually for the best technical paper published in the fields of bridge engineering, and subjects in the areas of surveying, structural engineering, heavy construction and engineering mechanics.
